Officer Cole was British Royal Navy officer serving aboard Monarch under Captain Toms. He has been killed by the crew of the Silent Mary, when Monarch entered the Devil's Triangle.

Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
On Monarch, on the quarterdeck, Cole looks through a spyglass on Dutch barque as it enters the Devil's Triangle and informs Captain Toms that the ship is going in. As Henry Turner runs on the main deck to warn Toms, Cole strictly tells him that he will not address the captain. When Henry tells Toms to trust in what he says and change the course, Cole orders the crew to arrest him. He witness as Henry attempts to change the ship's course by force and stands with indifference as the latter is abducted and imprisoned.
Once Monarch enters the darkness of the triangle, First Officer Wade notices remains of Dutch barque. Cole notices the ship off starboard side and alarms the crew. Wade looks at ship and informs Toms that it's just a shipwreck, while Cole still stares in shock at the ship. A moments later Toms realizes that the "wreck" is sailing straight for the Monarch.
As Capitán Armando Salazar and his undead crew boards the Monarch, Cole watches in horror as his crewmates are slaughtered. He attempts to back away from battle, walking backward to the poop deck, yet he walks straight into cursed soldier who impales him through back with a sword.
Personality
Officer Cole is an arrogant, strict Royal Navy officer. He doesn't hesitate to order the crew to arrest Henry Turner, when the latter "orders" Captain Toms to change the ship's course, but when Capitán Armando Salazar and his undead crew attacks the ship, he turns out to be a coward who leaves Captain to his fate, only trying to save himself.
